Chinese officials confirmed more than 6,000 cases of the novel coronavirus, the New York Times reported Wednesday. The virus has killed dozens of people in China; officials there have set up quarantines throughout the Wuhan province, where the outbreak is worst, and as foreign governments have evacuated their citizens from the region. Meanwhile, a chartered jet carrying more than 200 passengers airlifted from the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in China landed Wednesday at March Air Base Reserve in Riverside County.

The virus has spread to more than 18 nations, including the United States. Researchers at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering released a real-time map tracking the outbreak, which you can view here. So far in California, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is monitoring two cases of illness reported in Los Angeles County and Orange County. On Monday, the CDC said it is monitoring 110 people across 26 states who might have the coronavirus.

Outside of California, three other cases have been confirmed in the U.S.: Chicago, Seattle and Tempe, Arizona.
