Actor Inaki Godoy's character Monkey D Luffy’s adventures form a part of ‘One Piece’, a new Manga series on Netflix. The OTT platform has just released a new trailer for the live-action adaptation of the Manga series by Eiichiro Oda.

What is the plot of One Piece?


The eight-episode series shows Monkey D Luffy and his crew on a treasure hunt on the high seas to become the ‘King of the Pirates’. They fight the sea and their rivals along the journey.Netflix shared a letter from the writer Oda on Twitter, where he talks about being excited about the live-action One Piece series. The writer is all praise for the cast and crew for showcasing his Manga book series on screen.“It’s already fun seeing the flurry of reactions after each release of information,” Oda writes. “And the very fact that adapting One Piece into live action was conceived seven years ago is wild! … The entire process of so many people putting their heads together was a festivity in and of itself.”Oda informs fans that there are some changes in the plot of the Netflix series from the original book, adding, “After the launch, I’m sure I’ll hear about some people pointing out how this character is missing or that scene is omitted, or this bit is different from the manga. But I’m sure they’ll come from a place of love, so I intend to enjoy even those comments!”

One Piece also stars Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji, among others.

One Piece has been created for Netflix by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda. One Piece has earlier been adapted into an anime series, feature films as well as video games in Japan.

Oda’s original Manga series was published in 1997 first. It has sold more than 460 million copies globally so far.
