PENINSULA, Ohio – Peninsula Library will present “A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time” with local author and pop-culture historian Marty Gitlin.
The free, all-ages Zoom program is 7-8 p.m. Thursday, July 29.
Gitlin, a local writer who has written on sports and other topics, co-authored the 2018 book “A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters in Television History” with Joe Wos. It ranks the greatest cartoon characters from Snoopy to Scooby Doo, Donald Duck to Dudley Do-Right and others. Gitlin will show snippets of cartoons from the past century, play trivia with patrons, and discuss criteria used to rank the characters.
Autographed and personalized copies will be available online for purchase after the event.
