CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley’s call to China assuring them the U.S. would not be bombing the country as part of a ‘wag the dog’ scheme by then President Trump, followed protocol, was justified and patriotic. What’s truly treasonous, are attempts by Trump, his lawyers and supporters to overturn the legitimate 2020 presidential election results, U.S. Constitution, fair voting and democracy.
Based on intelligence that China feared the U.S. was about to launch a missile strike on the country, and China might respond in kind, General Milley called China General Li Zuocheng to deescalate the situation by assuring China that the U.S. was not about to attack, He also had told the General that the U.S. government was still intact following the January 6 Insurrection attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Gen. Milley reassured China that there would have been the customary warnings of any missile attack, eg: a build up of tensions, phone calls or other communications between U.S. and China leaders.
The Milley phone call was recounted in the new Bob Woodward, Bob Costa book “Peril” about the last months of the Trump presidency and Biden win. Excerpts of the phone exchange were released after early book reviews, but without the full context in the book of the call and how it was made, which in fact followed proper procedure.
Before making the call, General Milley had informed the Secretary of Defense and other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He made the call in a room with other people present.
A General in Milley’s position calming the unwarranted anxiety of an adversary is “not only common, it’s expected,” said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
General Milley also took action to make sure he and other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staffs would be made aware if Trump ordered any missile and nuclear strikes. Milley was right to do that, because there had already been a case where Trump ordered a military strike on another country without even notifying the Secretary of Defense, let alone the Joint Chiefs. Milley found out about it by happenstance. When he alerted the Sec of Defense, he had the strike called off.
Those actions by Milley were more than justified given he and others in the administration had good reason to fear that after his election loss Trump was losing his mind and not stable.
They should not have even been in that position, because the mentally unfit Trump should have already been removed from office either by an Impeachment conviction or the 25th Amendment.
Gen. Milley’s actions were courageous and patriotic. The only treasonous acts have been by Trump, his lawyers, aides and supporters attacking the U.S. Capitol to stop the verification of Biden’s win.
SIX-POINT PLAN TO OVERTURN DEMOCRACY
The Woodward-Costa book describes how Trump’s lawyer, John Eastman, presented to Trump and Vice President Mike Pence a two-page, six-point plan to overturn the presidential election results.
The plan called for results in 7 states to be thrown out based on false claims. Pence would either then unilaterally declare Trump the winner as Eastman urged, or Pence would declare that neither Trump and Biden had gotten the required 270 electoral college votes and have the House vote for each state, which would make Trump the winner. The steps Eastman plotted for Trump and Pence are unconstitutional.
BANNON TO TRUMP: “WE’RE GOING TO KILL THE BIDEN PRESIDENCY IN THE CRIB.”
On his podcast, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon confirmed the Woodward-Costa book account of him telling Trump “we’re going to bury Biden on Jan 6. We’re going to kill the Biden presidency in the crib.”
Days before the January 6 insurrection, Bannon met with Trump and had the following conversation about the election result “crisis” that needed to be fixed Jan 6. I’ve edited the curse words.
“People are going to go, ‘What the f*** is going on here? We’re going to bury Biden on January 6th, f****** bury him. We’re going to kill it in the crib, kill the Biden presidency in the crib.”
The New York Times has reported that there is now written proof that the Trump campaign and its lawyers, Sydney Powell and Rudy Giuliani knew the claims that Dominion voting systems rigged the election, working with Venezuela, were false, but continued to propagate them.
Eastman, Giuliani and Powell should all be permanently disbarred. And one or all three of Trump’s adult children could be indicted soon in the New York tax evasion case.
Attorney’s for indicted Trump Organization executive Allan Weisselberg said this week they expect more indictments. Besides Donald Trump and Weisselberg, the company only has six other main executives, and three of them are Don Jr., Eric and Ivanka Trump.
