Yen Press Announces EIGHT New Manga and Light Novel Licenses - Screen Rant

dokdokder.blogspot.com

Manga publisher Yen Press is known for releasing a ton of license announcements all at once. This applies to both their convention panels (remember those?) and on their social media accounts. On Saturday, January 16th, the publisher did not disappoint by revealing eight different license announcements (five manga and three light novels) on social media.

Founded in 2006 and based in New York, Yen Press has been licensing some of the hottest and most popular manga titles on their various imprints. These range all the way from dark action series like Akame ga Kill! to the perverted Interspecies Reviewers all the way down to the sports series Yowamushi Pedal.

In a series of tweets, Yen Press revealed that they’ve licensed the following manga titles: The Eminence in Shadow (Japanese title: Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!), Farewell to My Alter (Japanese title: Nakatani Nio Tanpenshuu: Sayonara Oruta), The Whole of Humanity Has Gone Yuri Except For Me (Japanese title: Watashi Igai Jinrui Zenin Yuri), The Maid I Recently Hired is Mysterious (Japanese title: Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii), and Captivated By You (Japanese title: Muchuu sa, Kimi ni.). They also revealed the following light novel announcements: Spy Classroom (Japanese title: Spy Kyoushitsu), I'm the Villainous Daughter, So I’m Keeping the Last Boss (Japanese title: Akuyaku Reijou Nano de Last Boss wo Katte Mimashita), and The Detective Is Already Dead (Japanese title: Tantei wa mou, Shindeiru.). All eight titles will debut in either June or July 2021.

Fans have every right to be excited about these announcements as the genre spread is huge. Within these eight announcements, readers have some great genre options to choose from including dark fantasy, multiple yuri titles, isekai, comedy, and much more! While readers might not be familiar with every title announced this past Saturday, there’s no reason to not look forward to your genre of choice being released this summer.

Narrowing down the field to just one manga and one light novel, however, fans should keep their eyes peeled for the light novel title Spy Classroom which began serializing earlier this year by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko and the manga title The Maid I Recently Hired is Mysterious. If you’re not a fan of maid hijinks or super top secret spy stories, you can also look into the isekai series I’m the Villainous Daughter, So I’m Keeping the Last Boss.

Yen Press has delivered quality manga and light novel titles for over a decade now so no matter which of these titles you decide to check out upon their debut, you’re almost guaranteed a good time (depending on your tastes of course).
